Empower School of Health & UNITAR to Celebrate Graduates' Achievements in Geneva on August 23rd!

Excitement is in the air as Empower School of Health & United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) prepare to celebrate the incredible achievements of our graduates on August 23rd in Geneva for a day filled with inspiration, recognition, and networking.

Projects Update

Strategic Training Executive Programme (STEP 2.0) India Launch

Empower School of Health, in collaboration with the IFPW Foundation, has successfully launched STEP 2.0 in India. The program is specifically tailored to support leadership capacities of mid-level supply chain professionals and will run from June-November 2024.

STEP India brings together participants from various state NTEP (Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim and Telangana), the Central Medical Services Society and Plan India. The program's distinguishing feature is the pairing of public sector supply chain managers with coaches from the private sector (Pfizer, JNJ and Merck), fostering an environment of enhanced learning and practical application. The 5-day face-to-face training session in Delhi is scheduled to occur from July 29- Aug 2nd, 2024.

Strategic Training Executive Programme (STEP 2.0) Togo Launch

Empower School of Health is collaborating with the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program–Technical Assistance Francophone Task Order (GHSC-TA FTO) to implement the STEP project in Togo. This initiative aims to enhance the capacity of managers from the Direction de la Pharmacie du Médicament et des Laboratoires (DPML) and the Centrale d'Achat de Médicaments Essentiels Génériques (CAMEG Togo) in supply chain leadership, boosting their capabilities and performance. Recruitment for participants and coaches is currently underway, with the project launch set to occur in the coming days.

Empower School of Health and Family Health India (FHI) Launch Self-Paced Online Course on Vector-Borne Diseases

Empower School of Health supported Family Health India in developing a self-paced online course on vector-borne diseases focused on malaria and dengue. The course aims to improve knowledge, health-seeking behavior and community action for the prevention, treatment and control of Malaria and Dengue at the household and community levels. Also, it aims to improve correct diagnosis, treatment and referral services for the prevention and treatment of Malaria and dengue through training and capacity building of frontline workers and health care providers. 9 modules in the Hindi language were developed emphasizing diagnosis, surveillance, treatment, strategies for transmission control, programme management, and behavior change of various vector-borne diseases. A web-based Learning Management System and an Android mobile app were developed for hosting the courses which include user dashboard and multiple admin access at district, state and national levels to ensure proper user management and analytics.

Empower School of Health Partners with GEF-IEO to Launch Comprehensive Online Training on Environmental Evaluation

Empower School of Health supported the Independent Evaluation Office of the Global Environment Facility (GEF-IEO) in developing a self-paced online training designed to provide foundational frameworks and tools for evaluating the environmental dimensions of a development intervention. The training comprises 6 modules with descriptive animated videos, interactive exercises, assessments, and additional resources.

Empower School of Health Collaborates with WHO’s GIS Centre to Develop Comprehensive Self-Paced Geo-Enabled Microplanning Course

Empower School of Health supported the World Health Organization’s GIS Centre for Health in adapting and developing a self-paced online course of the Geo-enabled Microplanning Handbook primarily aimed at Health officials, WHO and UNICEF country offices, and implementing partners and vendors. The English version of the course comprises 10 modules which are designed for all phases of planning and implementation and can be used for various use cases, including use-case specific applications, and assessments have been completed. The course will be further translated into 2 UN languages.
