Strengthening the Public Supply Chain Workforce for Universal Health Coverage: Evidence from STEP 2.0 Asia

Paul Lalvani, Founder and Executive Director, Empower School of Health, and Aboagye-Nyame Francis, Program Director, MTaPS Program, Management Sciences for Health (MSH) presented the results of the STEP ASIA evaluation, conducted by Empower and MSH, with support from Global Fund, at the Global Health Supply Chain Summit in Lagos, November 2024.

Our mixed methods approach built off the existing PtD M&E framework and combined quantitative operational indicators with an outcome harvesting approach. We used this method to showcase the impact of STEP in bringing about PSCM changes in an Asian cohort. This is the first time such an evaluation was conducted for any STEP program, and showcases how STEP directly resulted in PSCM improvements and improvement in leadership competencies.
